The Workforce Challenge Cup 2023, presented by the UAE's Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation, was hosted in honour of International Labour Day as a celebration of the people who have helped build this great nation at the iconic Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub.
The star-studded event was attended by dignitaries from various sectors and ambassadors of several countries to the UAE and a crowd of over 2500 spectators. Cricket legend Misbah-ul-Haq was the tournament ambassador.
Team Workforce won the inaugural cup against Team Abu Dhabi and were crowned champions on Monday, May 1 2023.
H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said, “Enhancing the quality of life for our workforce in the UAE is one of the priorities of our wise leadership. Holding events to unleash workers’ hobbies and skills is one way of supporting this approach.”
He added, “We praise this competition for giving a platform for our workers to enjoy this special day.”
